Cuba is complex.

About

The Cuba Reader looks at the political, social, and economic factors that give a small island global relevance. Through a weekly newsletter and blog, we seek to uncover the past and elucidate Cuba’s future.

My recent work in Cuba includes leading operations for Google’s local internet connectivity efforts on the island, where I was able to observe Cuban politics from close range and at the highest levels of government. I researched and wrote about Cuba at Harvard, and I continue to lead educational trips to Havana for current students.

I did my undergraduate work at Brigham Young University and received a Master in Public Policy from Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.

I am not paid by any of the companies or organizations that I write about.
